News of our new guest conductor – David HillThe Festival Chorus

Our next concert is of three works. Colin Matthews’ Voices of the Air, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and Haydn’s Wind Band Mass or Harmoniemesse , on Saturday 30th of June at St Luke’s, Ramsden Road, SW12 8RQ 7.30 pm.

For this concert we are delighted to welcome a guest conductor, David Hill. David is currently the Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers (since September 2007), and Musical Director of The Bach Choir (since April 1998). He also holds the positions of Chief Conductor of the Southern Sinfonia, and Music Director of the Leeds Philharmonic Society.

He was a member of the audience at the first performance of our anniversary commission by Colin Matthews and is looking forward to working with his daughter in law,  Katie Hill, as she sings the solo part again.
